Our Church
Founded in 1832, the church has grown steadily ever since. Facilities include a full office suite, nursery wing, large sanctuary, basketball gym, and softball field. Halesford is located near beautiful Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia. The lake area is growing rapidly, with construction of the Westlake village about a mile away. The community has multiple fast food restaurants, boutiques and gift shops, and a movie theater, not to mention the wide variety of activities available on the lake. We welcome vacationers and everyone new to the area!
Our Pastors
Pastor Melvin has been our chief minister since 1970. He has a genuine heart for God's people and takes on all forms of servanthood. Pastor Bobby Canipe joined us in 2011 as Youth Pastor. He and his family are on fire for the Lord, selflessly serving our young people and the entire church body.
Our Purpose
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20
