History of The Cry of Christ
On April 2-5, 2009, over two hundred members of Halesford Baptist Church came together to put on the area's first full-scale Easter drama.
This was the culmination of two years of planning and hard work by all involved.
The church indeed became the body of Christ during this time, as gifts and talents of all kinds were put to use in every area of planning and production. Construction teams, artists, costume designers, musicians, makeup artists, logistical teams, audiovisual experts, actors, prayer warriors, and many more devoted countless hours to this mission.
In addition, the church membership provided the vast majority of the production's advertising, enthusiastically spreading the word to friends and neighbors. One Saturday prior to the performances was devoted to canvassing the community with promotional materials and extending invitations both to the productions and to church.
These efforts continued in 2010 with the second annual production of The Cry of Christ on March 24-28.
